I'M up late and working hard to keep you with the latest!

Hey there I'M here and in storm mode!!!!! OK it is really late and it is raining rather good outside. The rain started right on time and everything is still looking good! Not much has changed in the forecast which is good news. However some is not such good news and that would be the rainfall amounts have changed a little bit. I'M now looking for rainfall to be between 1.50" and 1.75" inches. this I will be watching closely. This rainfall amounts are for Newton and Jasper counties as well..... Also as you know the winds are still the main threat at this time! We could very well see winds between 15 and 25 mph this morning and they will pick up with gusts to 55mph between the time of 1:pm and 10:pm today. This is what I'M watching closely. We are still in a slight risk for severe weather today and we are in that High Wind Warning. However I still like the severe and stronger storms staying to our south. Here is the Storms Outlook for today below. This is the same as it has been the past few hours so this tells you I still like our forecast. Now we will still see some good storms today and I think our best chance for seeing some good storms will be as you are waking up! That's right! Around 6:am or 7:am this morning. Otherwise we will be seeing rain and thunderstorm through out the day! And the high winds will stick around with us as well. So please remember the safety tips and be ready and safe!!

And after we get through this storm we will be back to winter by Saturday! With another small snow storm system. This is not a big system but we can look for snowfall between 2" and 4" inches possible. We will talk more about that as it gets closer but for now! I need to keep up with the latest! It is 3:11AM and raining hard.

I will check in a little later on! Rest up!! ;)

The rain is getting closer!

Rainfall looks to be between 1.00" to 1.50" inches. we will still have to watch the rainfall closely as it has been changing up and down for some time. Now lets time this all out.

Rain starting closer to 1:AM and the stronger storms as most will be waking up around 6:am and 7:am. High gusty winds between 15 and 30 mph with gusts to 55mph. the highest winds are expected to be between 1:pm and 10:pm Wednesday. Give or take. Now I'M not saying we will not see some strong storms at times but I do think the worst will stay to the south of Lafayette. We will have to keep watching this storm closely as it keep moving in. With winds this high maybe higher yet it can cause BIG problems with Trees Power lines houses anything really! This is really something to keep a close eye on. If you have to travel south you need to be ready for anything as the more south you go the worse the storms will be! We are talking severe thunderstorms. Driving will be hard with a high profile vehicles as well. I would not count out losing power and if that happens I will not be able to update the blog so I hope that don't happen!!!! And for other reasons as well. So we are not out of the thick yet by any means..........Remember we are still in that High Wind Warning from 10:am this morning to 1:am Thursday. I will keep tornadoes at a 2% range and small hail at 15% I really feel we will miss out on the most of the strong storms! But this kind of high winds I have never see before here. And this is very dangerous. This high of winds can be just as bad as a weak tornado.

There have been Four tornadoes reported between OK, and TX, and still having storms in those areas. They have seen Hail the size of Baseballs and Gusty winds. Well Like I said before in other post Lightning and High winds are the main threat. That and the rainfall amounts. We will keep watching all this closely and keep you posted. With the chance for such high winds here is a few high wind safety tips.

Safety Tips for High Winds
Move or secure lawn furniture, outdoor decorations or ornaments, trash cans, hanging plants and anything else that can be picked up by wind and become a projectile. During the storm, draw blinds and shades over windows. If windows break due to objects blown by the wind, the shades will prevent glass from shattering into your home.

I will check back a little later. Be sure to take pictures and send them to me at storm18mini@aol.com and I will post them here on the blog. Thanks..........

WINDY WINDY WINDY Is what we are talking about this time around!!!

1.75" Inch Hail. Hail bigger then golf balls in ANADARKO IN CADDO COUNTY

Even Hail reported the size 2.75" inches in GUTHRIE IN LOGAN COUNTY And in a lot of other areas. Some hail was reported of doing damage to car windows. Some wild weather they where having and on top of that Two Tornadoes was reported one in OK, and the next just a few ago in TX,. Here is the reports below.

Now for our weather and our main things to watch.
I have gone through the latest maps again and I still like the forecast. I still think the worst will stay to our south and the heavy rainfall will miss us. However we can expect rainfall around 1.25 with the slight chance for rain to reach 1.30" inches. We will watch this closely. Now main things we will really need to be watching is HIGH WINDS This is the Big part of this storm. We could see gusts to 55 mph or higher by tomorrow. Now with the models I have I'M looking for the highest winds coming in between 11:am and 7:pm tomorrow. And as with any storm Lightning will be a thing to watch as well. Here is the chances for Hail Tornadoes and Wind I have posted below.

Tornadoes we will keep at 2%

Hail We will keep at 15%

Winds a good chance at 30% This being the main cause.

Remember this high of winds can do a LOT of damage so anything that can get picked up you should store away in the garage and tie down while you can. I still look for the storms to move into our area after midnight closer to 1:am tonight. This will be a long night for all weather lovers.

Stay tuned and stay safe..........

Just checking in.

Just checking in again and we are now in a High wind Warning the High wind watch is no longer in effect. The High Wind Warning is in effect from 10:Am Wednesday to 1:am Thursday. Here is the counties.

CARROLL-WARREN-TIPPECANOE-CLINTON-HOWARD-FOUNTAIN-MONTGOMERY-BOONE-TIPTON-HAMILTON-MADISON-DELAWARE-RANDOLPH-VERMILLION-PARKE-PUTNAM-HENDRICKS-MARION-HANCOCK-HENRY-VIGO-CLAY-OWEN-MORGAN-JOHNSON-SHELBY-RUSH-SULLIVAN-GREENE-MONROE-BROWN-BARTHOLOMEW-DECATUR-KNOX-DAVIESS-MARTIN-LAWRENCE-JACKSON-JENNINGS-INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...LAFAYETTE...FRANKFORT...KOKOMO...CRAWFORDSVILLE...ANDERSON...MUNCIE...INDIANAPOLIS...TERRE HAUTE...SHELBYVILLE...BLOOMINGTON...COLUMBUS...VINCENNES...BEDFORD...SEYMOUR
This is also for Jasper County and Newton County. We are looking for winds to be between 25 and 30 mph and gusts to 50 maybe even 55mph. This is just as bad as tornadoes sometimes and this kind of wind can do a lot of damage. If you can stay home and not be on the roads tomorrow morning through the afternoon then that would be best.....

Now the forecast is still looking on track at this time and I have your % for tornadoes posted below.

You see we are still in that 2% and I still think the worst will stay to our south! I will check back with more a little later..........I do think the best chance for some strong severe storms would be between 1:am and 6:am. Then after that we will still be seeing thunderstorms and Gusty winds which will be through much of the day Wednesday. Take a look at the storms already firing up in Oklahoma. They already have Severe thunderstorm warnings out along with Tornado warnings. Lets all hope they stay safe and that we miss out on this! I will keep you updated with our wild weather to come.

I'll check back soon..........

Quick Update.....................

Here is a look above of our rainfall totals from Last Nights little rain storm. We did stay below .20" in most areas which is good news. We don't want a lot of rain with all the rain that is still to come later on tonight. Now there is a lot of watches and warnings out around the areas so here is a few as of now.

CARROLL-WARREN-TIPPECANOE-CLINTON-HOWARD-FOUNTAIN-MONTGOMERY-BOONE-TIPTON-HAMILTON-MADISON-DELAWARE-RANDOLPH-VERMILLION-PARKE-PUTNAM-HENDRICKS-MARION-HANCOCK-HENRY-VIGO-CLAY-OWEN-MORGAN-JOHNSON-SHELBY-RUSH-SULLIVAN-GREENE-MONROE-BROWN-BARTHOLOMEW-DECATUR-KNOX-DAVIESS-MARTIN-LAWRENCE-JACKSON-JENNINGS-INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...LAFAYETTE...FRANKFORT...KOKOMO...CRAWFORDSVILLE...ANDERSON...MUNCIE...INDIANAPOLIS...TERRE HAUTE...SHELBYVILLE...BLOOMINGTON...COLUMBUS...VINCENNES...BEDFORD...SEYMOUR

These counties are all under a High wind watch. And as much as I heat to say it Jasper county is under a Flood watch with Newton county under a flood warning.

Now with these storms as you know high gusty winds are going to be a BIG problem. We will see winds between 15 and 25 mph with gusts to 45 mph pushing 50 some mph in storms. I still think the main Severe weather will stay to our south but still main things for our area will be High Gusty Winds, And Lighting.....Currently tornadoes are looking like 2% still we can never rule them out when there is a chance for severe weather. We all seen what happened last December..... We can't rule out any hail just yet as well. I will be back again with another update to make sure you know of any changes made to the forecast. I have my radar up and ready to go! The storms are still looking to be starting closer to 1:00am this morning. It will be a long night but with you Bloggers it will feel quick..........
