Final Rainfall Totals Are In! And Flooding Is A Big Problem!!

OK lets get right to it with all those BIG rainfall numbers!! You can see above that Lafayette, comes in with one of the highest amounts of the night at a huge 2.65" inches for a final total! Down in Fountain County was not far behind with 1.53" inches followed by Monticello, with 1.35" inches. We knew that heavy rainfall would be a big threat and that is just what we seen. Low land and field flooding was all over many areas. along with the rivers! The latest Wabash river outlooks are now expected to crest at moderate flood stage which is at 20.0ft!!! This is expected to crest today around 8:pm this evening! If you do live around these rivers please stay tuned to the NWS for the latest watches and warnings. And stay safe!Flooding was not the only thing seen around the area last night that is for sure! Take a look above at this image sent in from my aunt out in Monroe here in Tippecanoe county.. This is whats left of a sign that blew off the roof of a small Stop And Go along side US 52. Two parts of this sign blew across the highway into her yard. Thank goodness it did not take out any on coming traffic! They said the wind was pounding the side of the house hard in storms! Also I had reports of small trees down around that area along with some roof damage to a few houses! Here are a few more images sent in by my Aunt of some twisted metal laying around the yard across highway US52 from Wainwright school. This was all do the gusty winds! Now here is a picture of something a little more major that just shows you all how bad these wind gusts really where last night! This is the Shell Gas Station On Greenbush and Ealmwood. You can see the roof over the pumps was blown off by the winds!This is why we never let our guard down last night! I want to give a BIG thank you to my Aunt Carrie for sending in these great pictures of just some of what our storm last night really did! And hope all are now safe and sound!

Bad weather reports all over the place that is for sure! But things are looking much better today with a little cooler temperatures and yes, still wet in many areas! However we will still keep some sun in the forecast today with some Partly cloudy skies trying to peak out by later on this afternoon. So don't cancel any plans!!!! ;) We will have a nice little break in the weather with a little dry spell! That's right I thank all the area farmers will like this forecast as I'M looking to keep it dry until closer to next weekend!!! This should help give the ground some time to dry out and cause the area rivers to fall! Which is just what we need!!!
