Things Are Coming Together For Thanksgiving!

Well, finally the rain is over for a little while! I think we may even see some sun today. This week has been real bad for farmers I can tell you that. Really this whole year has been ruff. Many farmers are still trying to get there crops harvested. And it's the middle of November! We really need a big break in the rain! This sun shine will be welcomed with open arms by not only the farmers but just about everyone I have talked to are ready for some sun. Just think of it as a gift from nature! :)

Now besides when the dry weather would arrive, I have also been watching for this Thanksgiving forecast. Remember that big cool down we have been talking about pretty much this whole month? Well, we have been trying to figure out just when it will take place. Before or after thanksgiving? That has been the question! And I can tell you I have been running through the models like crazy checking and double checking to get as close to the right answer as humanly possible.
And right now I'm looking at the cold air moving in closer to the 25th into the 26th. We have been watching this cold air building to our north for a while and it should make a move on us by then. Now the thing I have been watching closely on my weather models is temperatures. The MOS models have been running a good five degrees above what the real temperature has been reaching. However the 850mb charts have been pretty close! Around only a degree or two off. Which is not bad! So I have MOS models showing temperatures over Thanksgiving around 46 degrees. However my other models have this temperature cooler yet!

Also as you all know we were looking at possible snow flurries over Thanksgiving earlier this week. Well, one thing I love to use when forecasting snow is the 540 line. However that can be tricky as well! In this case I do look for the 540 line to drop to our south over thanksgiving. But does this mean snow? Well, I look for some Precipitation to move into northern Indiana at this time however the best chance for some snow flurries are looking to be areas of South Bend, IN, and more north around MI. These are the areas that have the best chance at snow flurries over Thanksgiving. Currently the WLFI viewing area is looking for Partly to mostly cloudy skies and cool temperatures on Thanksgiving. (This can still change)

Now I will have another fully detailed forecast coming closer to thanksgiving once again.....
That's right today we will see the High pressure system move in and free us from the rain for a change! I have never been so happy to see our fair weather friend. The ground will have some time to dry out before the next slight chance of rain moves in. When is that you ask? Well, currently closer to Monday night into Tuesday possible. So we will see at least two maybe three days of dry weather.

Quick Cast.......................................

Today we will see Partly cloudy to mostly clear skies over the WLFI viewing area. Highs will be in the middle to upper 40s with lows tonight dropping into the low to middle 30s. With no overcast to act like a blanket and help keep the temperatures from cooling off to much we will feel a nice cool crisp November night. Winds will be calm between 5 and 10 mph. Remember a warm jacket if heading out in the evening hours!

Saturday we will see off and on sun / Partly cloudy skies over the WLFI viewing area. Highs will be slightly warmer in the lower 50s. Lows will again fall into the low to middle 30s. Winds will again be calm between 5 and 10 mph.

Alright bloggers. I got a lot of work to get done today so I had better get to it! The neighbors won't wait all day. :) And I don't expect them to! So stay warm and stay safe. Have a Happy Almost Thanksgiving! I will check back with more soon. Don't forget about your weekend forecast coming later on tonight. See ya then..........
