The forecast for Friday (Tomorrow) is 70s and DRY!!!
Yes, the drought will continue. The bad news is not just that the drought will continue but also that most of us in the WLFI viewing area and really the whole state of Indiana is between the moderate to severe drought stage!! This isn't good. Still fire weather for sure. We must keep a close eye on things until we start to see more cooler temperatures and precipitation move back into the area. But when will that be?? I have your answer!
When it comes to precipitation well that may be a soon as Saturday afternoon. However I'm not looking for much as usual. Mild and dry seem to be the four seasons in Indiana lately! Here's the break down on the light rainfall expected below.
This is a Prog chart for Saturday morning. You can see in the yellow lines we will have a cold front push through the area come Saturday. Along this front I expect a scattered line of showers to push through as well. However only bringing rainfall between a tenth and a quarter inch possible. This will also allow our temperatures to try and get back to near normal for this time of year. But what is the normal in Indiana anymore??
Normal temperatures for this time of year are usually around 50* degrees. Come Saturday we will see highs in the low 60s however after Saturday highs will be near normal ranging in the low to middle 50s and then maybe back to the 40s for highs come closer to the middle of next week!! (Finally). But will this cold settle in and last a while?? Ehhhhhh Not just yet... Hard to say at this time. It's looking like we may be up and down for a little bit temperatures - wise through out this month. :( Does anyone remember having snow on Thanksgiving?? I would love to hear your stories if you do!!
I remember snow on Thanksgiving one year. And to me Snow on the holidays is just the icing on the cake! It sets a warm feeling around the whole day. Bottom line (It just makes them even better then they already are).
What's this Thanksgiving looking like at this time? Well my rough forecast is below.
Yes, as you can see Currently models indicate skies Mostly Cloudy With a chance of rain possible. A mix of rain and snow possible in extreme northern Indiana. Around Average Temperatures expected at this time which would be around 47* to 50* degrees.

But again this is just to give you all an idea as to what to look out for this Thanksgiving. as always I'll have a fine tuned detailed forecast once the holiday moves closer! ;)

Until then I can't believe I'm saying this in November, "Stay Cool" ;) I'll check back soon.
This weather does make it hard to believe that it's November and Thanksgiving is only 2 weeks away. Makes me wonder if we will pay for this later, but sure is nice to have it while we can! Thanks for the update! :-) JlB
