Idaho, Snow Storm Got Me Thinking! When Will Lafayette, See Snow Accumulation??

Well, bloggers today was a slightly more mild day then what we have been seeing the past week with a recorded high at JIWB today of 48.7* degrees. And it's looking like tomorrow will be much of the same only slightly warmer yet. Take a look at the Quick cast below.

Monday we will look for partly cloudy skies to start the day. Clouds will increase as the day continues. Rain will try to move into the area between 7:pm and 9:pm Monday night. Rain could be heavy at times. I expect this rain to go into Tuesday morning. New rainfall totals between both Monday evening and Tuesday morning hours is between .75" and 1.25" inches possible. Highs will be in the low 50s around 51* degrees with lows that night in the lower 40s around 43* degrees. Winds will be between 10 and 20 mph.
You can see in this model image above, The rain that will push through the area come Monday evening between 7:pm and 9:pm EST. The red colors over Lafayette is showing the possible inch of rain.

Tuesday we will look for rain showers to start things. Otherwise becoming mostly cloudy through out the day with a few possible light scattered snow flurries late in the day into that night possible on the back side of this cold front. Any precipitation left on the back side of the cold front would fall in the form of light snow flurries. Highs will be in the low to middle 40s possible around 45* degrees. Lows Tuesday night cooler in the low 20s around 24* degrees. Winds between 10 and 15 mph.

The temperatures will become cold again from Tuesday night through Saturday with highs only around freezing. YEAH!!!! :)

So we could see some possible scattered light snow flurries that won't add to anything this time around while Idaho, is seeing the real heavy snow!!

Yes, Idaho, is seeing Winter storm warnings in effect until 11:pm tonight. They are looking at an additional 2" to 6" inches of snowfall. This bringing the storm totals up to 5" to 9" inches in the valleys and up to 15" inches in the mountains above 6000 feet. Southeast Idaho, is seeing steady winds between 20 and 30 mph gusting to 40 mph at times. This is reducing visibility to less then 1/4 Miles do to all the blowing snow in the area!

You can see in some of these pictures how the snow is just a whiteout in some spots. I just hope that everyone is remembering the winter safety driving tips or at least staying home if they don't need to go out! Wow do you guy's know how much I wish that snow was on my front lawn?? lol "REALLY BAD" :)

So this got me looking for snow accumulation's here in Indiana! And I found some signs that it could be near! In my last post I talked about snow chances between the first and third week of December. Well after going through some more weather models it's looking like we may have some winter storm chances between the first week and second week of December. Maybe even before the 14th! ;) But that's still a ways off. Again just giving you something to think about! :)
