The Line Is Passed!

It's 11:18pm... I just got back from a drive around Lafayette. Nothing real bad thank god! Just some localized flooding on some roads such as Teal Rd, and some minor small tree limbs down in areas. The lightning was amazing while I was out. However it is dangerous with the moderate rainfall.. Roads are very slick with the pooling water!

That squall line is now out of the WLFI viewing area! It is continuing to push off to our east at this time. Still we have had many reports of high wind and hail in the area. Along with many many power outages across the area! One tornado reported close to home at this time! And that was in IL, by the Indiana state line. Take a look at the report.

At this time I don't have any reports of tornadoes in the WLFI viewing area which is great. However we will wait a bit longer to see is any come it. Otherwise I have many hail reports!

Still some scattered thunderstorms are going to be the story tonight and I will continue to keep watching data and radars closely over the next few hours to be safe. Otherwise some flooding is possible as we still have moderate rainfall on the back side of these storms to deal with overtime!

  1. Thanks for the awesome updates Justin! My power went out at around 10:30 last night and it just came back on a few hours ago. :(

Tried to post comments via my phone but it was acting dumb. lol.

  2. By the way, we have a few large trees down showing roots and some other small damage to some odds and ends...once I snap out of zombie-mode I will get out and get some pics!
