Looking For Some Cat Tracks In The Snow!!

Alright this is the look for how things will be tonight. I'm expecting to see more clouds move into the area as the day continues. Then some light snow showers move into our area sometime tonight into Monday. Currently I think it would be sometime after 3:am or 4:am EST give or take. Now this is not looking like a big snow maker however we may see a little something on grassy areas. Here is a look at my current thinking on snow accumulation for tonight into Monday below.
I think most of the WLFI viewing area will stay around a Dusting aka Cat tracks in the morning. This will make roads very slick so please allow yourself some extra time to get where you need to go if your heading out in the morning hours. As you can see I do have an area for closer to an inch possible however I'm thinking that the IL, areas have the better chance at seeing that at this time. I won't rule out the possibility for a few "isolated" areas in Indiana to see close to an inch however most will stay under that inch mark this time around.

Now the BIG story for the start to next week will be that we have another winter storm in the making to our west! There are already many winter storm watches and winter weather advisories out to our west in areas around Nebraska, and Kansas. By the time we get closer to Tuesday and Wednesday the areas of Nebraska, and areas of Kansas, could see or should I say could have around 5+ inches in areas. Now the thing with this system and Indiana is (Temperature). I have gone through the latest weather models as of this afternoon and right now it is looking like we may start out as a rain event as we head into Tuesday. Then we will become a mixture of both rain and snow only then to see all snow on the back side of this system. This is going to be a WET system that's for sure. And I'll have expected rainfall amounts posted soon. Or if we see the 540 line drop more to our south sooner then the system starts to push through, Then maybe I will have some big snowfall amounts posted! Wishful thinking!!

Ether way if this system comes in as Rain, Mix, or Snow, over Tuesday / Wednesday we will see a great deal of windy weather come along with it. I'm talking about winds between 25 and 30 mph on Wednesday with gust to 35 - 40 mph possible! So now you are starting to see how tricky this system is going to be. I will continue to keep you posted on this developing system. But first lets just track one flurry at a time and start with the snow showers expected tonight into Monday morning. Here's your outlook for tonight below.
I'm off to catch the Colts game! GO COLTS! come on 12 - 0!!!! ;)

I'll check back soon.
