The Smell Of Winter Is In The Air...

Well, it looks like the forecast was pretty much spot on for a change lol. Not to many times can I say that my forecasts are spot on. But this time I'm happy! However I would have been happier if we seen more snowfall lol.
Above is how things looked last night around 6:15pm EST in the WLFI viewing area. You can see we still had a few light snow flurries showing up in areas near Rensselear, in Jasper county as well as just north of Newton county. Nothing was adding up to anything however a few nice flurries went flying through the sky! And I thank you all for the morning reports of snow flurries around the area. Becky, we cannot forget about your hard early morning work with the paper rout. Like I had said before I knew a lady that did the paper rout every morning at 2:am rain, or snow, or storms, she was out in it! You have a tough job that's for sure! So thank you for your report! Stay warm and always stay safe!!

Quick Cast....................................

Today we will look for mostly cloudy skies much like what we seen yesterday. Maybe a few breaks in the clouds however over all mostly cloudy. Highs will be cool in the low 30s with lows falling into the upper teens around 18 degrees. Winds are expected to be between 10 and 15 mph. This will make the daytime highs feel around 20 degrees. Our night time wind chill will be around 5 degrees.

Saturday is looking like some partly cloudy skies will try and move into the area. We will see highs in the low to middle 30s with lows falling into the low low 20s around 21 degrees. Winds look between 5 and 10 mph. So the good news is we wont feel to much of a wind chill, But a slight wind chill none the less. Still with the 5 to 10 mph winds it will make our daytime high feel around four or five degrees cooler. Nightly wind chill will be around 13 degrees.

Now this week we will see cool but calm weather. However as we start next week we will have yet another chance at some winter weather! It's to early to really tell if this will be a snow or mix precipitation event at this time. But you can bet I will do my best to stay on top of things and keep you posted!
More good news for cold weather lovers! By the looks of things at this time, With all the cold arctic air building to our north we can look for another cool down next week!
I will check back with your weekend outlook later on tonight. Be sure to check back. Thanks for reading.

Stay Warm! ;)
