Blowing and drifting snow this morning! Warmer and Partly cloudy Tomorrow!

What a weather pattern that is taking place! We have seen snow and even blowing and drifting snow Yesterday and even this morning! Causing problems on roads and making it a lot more unsafe to get to work! You would not believe all the reports of blowing and drifting snow on roads! And some where even reporting white out conditions and what looked like a blizzard up in Monticello though there was not a blizzard that tells you how much snow was blowing around. This was all do to the high gusty winds! Even Fountain county was seeing this wind as reports came from there as well of snow blowing over the road ways! And it was cold yesterday as well! We seen here in Lafayette a high of 22.6* degrees but you add in the winds and we seen a wind chill temperature of only around 3* and 4* degrees! COLD! Says it all..... But the temperatures will soon change again! Here is a map I have put together below so you can see how we go from the Teens to the low to mid 50s this Saturday.Yes it is that time of year again where we start to bounce up and down in temperatures again just like when we go from fall to winter well going from Winter to Spring we go on a wild temperature ride and that is what we have to look forward to. Because shortly after this warm up we will start to cool off again! Well really later on around the middle of this month! So this is just a taste of Spring! Remember the Ground hog did call for six more weeks of winter! Could this mean more snow later on????? ;) Now we did wake up yesterday to an inch of snow here in Lafayette so I got a few snowfall amounts from yesterday for you below.
If you look at the picture above you will see it reads four inches! That we from yesterday! Although we had only one inch of snowfall we did see that snow drift up to four inches! If that tells you how much the snow was blowing! And I'M sure after all the reports there was some higher drifts then what I had! Looking at Tiptons and Monticello's snowfall amount yesterday and knowing they had a lot of blowing snow they could have seen six or more inch snow drifts with ease!! Now we may have to watch for a little more blowing and drifting snow this morning and into the afternoon but then we should start to look better. As Tomorrow is looking so much better with Partly cloudy skies and a temperature in the low to mid 30s Also winds will be light between 5 and 10 mph. We will be looking so much warmer by this weekend we will be pushing some record highs! That's right the record high for Saturday is 51* degrees which was set back in 1965. Well we will be really close and I think we can set a new record by Saturday! Time will tell but I think we have a good shot at it!

So still take it slow on the roads this morning and allow yourself some extra time in case of Blowing and drifting snow and be safe! Have a good day and I will see you soon..........Send any weather pictures to me at storm18mini@aol.com Thank you for reading and feel free to post your comments..........
