Yes, the rivers are being watched very closely as the rainfall totals keep going up! There is already a Flash Flood Warning for parts of IL, around Springfield, As you can see in the massage above low land will also be a threat in areas and if you live along the rivers you will want to stay tuned to the NWS for the latest.....

On my last blog post I said we had a current rainfall total of around .80" inches. Well, from that little time Lafayette just picked up another 1.00" inches bringing our all together total up to this point to around 1.80" inches and it is still coming down and will continue to come down through out the day! We may see a slight break or at least see it calm down a little bit here before long but then we will see this next line of thunderstorms move in sometime around 11:pm or just after, tonight. If this system speeds up or slows down it will change our current timing. So I will keep you posted on that as well. With that system we could easily pick up another inch and a half to two inches on top of what we already have!! It is no wonder we are seeing these flood warnings!!

I will continue to watch this and I will be back with more updates on the thunderstorms to come as we keep getting closer..........
