MAJOR UPDATE!!

The weather is very dangerous at this time Bloggers. There have been a number of crashes around the area. Do to high wind and slick roads. Also a number of trees reported down around the area. And many many power outages!!

Traffic lights at eight different intersections in Lafayette & West Lafayette were out, but power has since been restored.

Trees and power lines are down throughout Tippecanoe County.
Duke Energy reported over 1000 power outages as of 12:20 p.m.

Many roads are extremely icy.
Police described Creasy Lane as a "sheet of ice."
Several crashes have already been reported:


A semi was blown over on the southbound lanes of I-65 near Remington
A semi has jackknifed and overturned on I-65 2 miles north of the State Road 43/West Lafayette exit (

A personal injury crash took place on County Road 510 S near West Point (

Crash on 350 South
Crash on US 52


Drive slowly and with extreme caution. Keep yourself and others on the road safe.

This is again VERY DANGEROUS!! If you can stay off the roads then please do so! The temperature is dropping FAST we have already dropped another seven degrees in three hours!! This is just amazing. Stay safe and drive slow or stay off roads if possible! I'll check back again soon.....

Thank you Justin, power has been out here for about an hour. My side walks are a sheet of ice, just horrible out there!
