Well, one thing everyone has been talking about is all the snow down south! That's right some areas of TX, have been seeing around 2" to 4" inches of snowfall. Even areas of LA, will see snow accumulations today. Not as much as they seen last year where Baton Rough LA, picked up a good four inches!
You can see this radar image I took last night around 7:00pm EST. Right now areas around Alexandria, LA, can expect any were between 1" and 3" inches. Areas more south of that around Baton Rough, LA, could see snowfall around an inch or less. Then south of them will see a mixture to all rain.
I find it AMAZING that TX, and LA, seen the first snow of the season before us here in Indiana. Now sure we did see some flurries the other day and maybe a dusting on the cars however I don't think of that as the first snow of the season. To me the first snow of the season is at least one inch of accumulated snow on the ground. And that we have yet to see!
This is a picture of our first snowfall last year. You can see it was a wet snow so it stuck to the trees which made for a beautiful winter wonderland morning! That is a snowfall I'll never forget. Just look at that picture. I LOVE IT!!
Still I have been looking for any signs of winter all day yesterday as our high was only 30 degrees. My sister and I was out helping our neighbor put up her Christmas decorations and let me tell you it was COLD! However you know me! I really enjoyed it! I enjoyed it so much that last night around 6:00pm I went out to lift my weight's out on the deck. It was dark, peaceful, and I looked up to find light snow flurries falling to the ground. It was only 26 degrees at the time but so nice. Whenever I get the change I'm always outside in this kind of weather.
And I know it's cold when I get inside and find Ice on the windows! lol.
Yes, winter is just about here..... It's GREAT! :D
Quick Cast Weekend Outlook....................
Today we will look for some partly cloudy skies over the WLFI viewing area. We look to stay dry with a nice cool temperature in the low 30s with lows falling into the upper teens around 19 degrees. Winds will be between 5 and 10 mph. We will see a wind chill tonight making our temperature feel around 10 degrees.
Sunday we will start out with partly cloudy skies only to watch clouds slowly move into the area. That evening clouds will start to increase. AM, Sun PM, clouds. We will see highs in the middle 30s with lows dropping into the low to middle 20s. Winds will be between 10 and 20 mph. Wind chill that night will feel around 13 degrees.

I'm still watching for another chance at snow showers come Monday. Then a wintry mixture possible closer to Tuesday / Wednesday. As things get closer we will then be able to tell if we will see this system come in as rain, a Mixture, or all Snow. Currently it's looking like a mixture but I will have more details coming here soon...
Now go have a great weekend Bloggers! I'll check back soon. Then we can kick it into high gear with lots of winter weather to talk about! :)
