Rain Chance Is In The Forecast.

Hot and dry have been all we could talk about all summer and now into fall and winter. I was out earlier today blowing the leaves out of the yard and could not believe how dry and stiff the grass felt under my feet. It doesn't even feel like grass anymore. Just dead and dry. Take a look. This is how the whole neighborhood looks. Really this is how most of the state looks!
There have been two fires reported in Tippecanoe county last month alone do to this drought. Really there have been fires reported in Every WLFI viewing area county last month do to the drought. And the drought continues! It's even more dangerous fire - wise now then it was last month. I say that because of all the dry falling leaves around the area! Just do your part to remember your fire safety and help keep yourself and others around you safe.

Guess how high our temperature was today?!? (74*) degrees!

Today we set a new record high. Today's High (74*)Degrees. And The Record High Set Back In 1964 Of (73*) Degrees.

1964 had four record high setting days and we have broke two so far! Just crazy! But we may have some relieve on the way!! I have rain in the forecast and some cooler temperatures near average. Take a look at your Quick Cast blow.

Saturday (Tomorrow) We will look for mostly cloudy skies across the area as a line of rain moves closer. I currently expect to see the rain move into the area between the times of 1:pm and 2:pm EST. Rainfall isn't near as much as we could use but we will take every drop. Rainfall between .10" and .25" inches possible. Highs will be in the low to middle 60s around 64* degrees. Lows in the middle 30s around 35* degrees. Winds will be between 10 and 15 mph with a few gusts to 20 mph possible.

Sunday we will look for partly cloudy skies and dry. A few thicker clouds will try and move in that evening / night. Highs will be in the low 50s around 50* degrees. Lows in the low 30s around 34* degrees. Winds light between 10 and 15 mph.

Now even though it's been mild outside to start November we do still have to talk about this winter weather to come in the future. Yes, Winter Weather Preparedness Week is coming up!
November 14th through the 20th. Each day will focus on something different that has to do with this winter's safety! And I will do my best to not only give you all the site on the National Weather Service but also post some of the tips on JIWB as well ;) With the weather we have been seeing lately it's hard to believe we are about to start talking winter weather safety. However this is when it tricks you the most and really sneaks up on you. Weather like we have had followed by going right into winter is very dangerous!

So we will start that the 14th bloggers. Stay safe and enjoy the rain to come! ;)

I'll check back soon.
