WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

This Advisory is for the whole WLFI viewing Area!!

I've gone through a little more data this morning and at this time I'm still liking my last forecast that I posted on here last night! But just for fun lets go through the check list once again.

I still believe that we will start out as all rain as highs will be near 40* degrees today. We will start to change over to a mix of rain and snow maybe even sleet by this evening. We won't start to see a change over to all snow until around 8:pm or 9:pm for our eastern and or north eastern counties. And closer to 9:pm and 10:pm EST for most of the rest of the WLFI viewing area including Lafayette. Now we will see snow for a little while however do expect a slight break in the snow for a Little while around 2:00am or 3:00am EST Sunday morning.

You can see in this image above the slight break I'm talking about. Looking like a dry slot for a bit. However you can also see all that snow on the back side (Wrap around snow) That will then push through the area through out the day of Sunday. This is what will give us the rest of our expected snowfall through out the WLFI viewing area.

Now I still feel my snowfall map from yesterday is good!Only now I'm thinking that my 3" to 6" Inch range to our north may have to be raised even more! However that's north of the WLFI viewing area so lets go ahead and stick with our forecast for now ;) I still feel that the 2" to 4" Inch range is best for the WLFI viewing area however again I still have that GUT FEELING that some areas could see around four and a half to maybe five inches in areas. Now this may or may not happen however sometimes you have to go with your gut so I wanted to be sure to put that out there for you all. The weather models are not showing that however if the timing is a little off it will change a number of things snowfall - wise with this one! So I will be watching the change over time tonight closely that's for sure! And if I have to pop in later on tonight for some last minute changes to the forecast then I will do so! However I'm hoping things work out and we won't have to worry about that lol :)

Now main threats for this storm will still be two major things! Wind / Blowing and drifting snow! And -20* degree WIND CHILLS!!Yes, lots and lots of blowing and drifting snow with this one! When you have winds gusting to 35 + mph things will blow like crazy! And 2" to 4" Inches can drift to be twice that amount! if not more in some areas! So we need to keep that in mind.

Also wind chills will be a huge factor! You will need to drees warm and very warm at that! We are talking Frost Bite in 30 minutes or less!! As temperatures fall Sunday night to 9* degrees the wind chill will feel like at least -15* degrees. And it will only drop from there to -20* even -22* degrees below zero come Monday and Monday night!! Please take note of this and stay warm! Now are you all starting to see why this storm is being called the Annihilator?? :) That's just what we can expect! Areas to our West and Northwest will see blizzard conditions along with colder wind chills possible, and three times the amounts of snow!!
