Patchy Frost Tonight, With Middle To Upper 70s By Mothers Day!

That's right bloggers. You need to get out and cover those plants that you may have setting out and about in your lawn this evening! Or if you can bring in any potted plants that would be just as good! I'm expecting our low tonight to fall near freezing right around 34* degrees! So patchy frost is in the forecast. Any plants left outside uncovered could be found in less then good shape by morning time. So bring'em in!

We have had rather cloudy skies through out much of the day. However that is all about to change as we head into the overnight hours.
You can see in this satellite image above how we have that high pressure starting to take over in the area. This means we will be watching for those clearing skies as we continue to head into the overnight. Which is another reason we will be expecting patchy frost in areas. Once the clouds are lifted away that allows us to cool big time! It's like our blanket is being taken off the area. Good news is the winds wont be much of a problem tonight! So if you need to head out in the early morning with the cooler temperatures, Wind chill shouldn't affect you to much. I look for winds to be between 3 and 5mph.

Now as we head into tomorrow (Thursday) we will start out the day with partly cloudy skies across the area. And this will be the story through out a good part of the day. Highs will be right around 66* degrees with light winds between 5 and 10mph however things will soon change as we head into the evening hours and into Thursday night.
You can see in the surface chart above that frontal system getting closer to the area by 8:00pm EST. At this time I figure we will see clouds moving into the area in the evening hours with rain later on that night around midnight or just after. Good news is I'm not looking for a total wash out with this system. Rainfall between .25" to .30" inches possible. Expect a low that night around 48* degrees.

And last but not least! Mothers day is coming up very quick this year. This Sunday! WOW. So what is the outlook for this special day? Well, I've got a sneak peak for everyone.
Right now I know a lot of you are wanting a dry mothers day however at this moment things could be a little damp. Outside that is! But we can still take mom to a great indoor place to enjoy! ;) I look for a nice 77* degrees as our high Sunday and a mild low around 61* degrees. Now I know I have scattered showers in this map above however I'm not looking for an all day rain at this time. Maybe a few scattered showers to start things. Then a brief break come the afternoon hours followed by another possible shot of rain by that night into Monday. But nothing is set in stone just yet!

I just wanted to give you all a quick sneak peak as of now. However I will continue to keep watch on this developing weather story and if I see any changes I'll be sure to let you all know ASAP! ;)

God Bless!
