Rivers Will Crest Then Begin To Fall.. Also A Forecast Even Your Mothers Will Love!

Well, with the rain last night I recorded a good 0.20" Inches in the Lafayette, area. We expected between .25" and .30" inches and we only seen 0.05" less then what we expected. Which I think is good news as the ground has been so wet the past month or two. We could use a little drying time! I say this also because the rivers are still above flood stage! Yes, Flood Warnings are still in effect across the area.

You can see in this chart above that the Wabash River is still currently 1.44ft above flood stage. And it's expected to crest tonight at or right around 2:am EST at around 13ft. Which will be a good 2.0ft above flood stage. Currently we're not expecting to see the Wabash river at or just under flood stage which is 11.0ft until closer to the 10th. (Tuesday). So even though they're falling, we still have a little ways to go.

So with that said, When is our next chance for some more rain in the area? Well, right now I do have a slight chance of a quick afternoon shower by as soon as tomorrow. Take a look at this chart below.

This surface chart is looking into tomorrow afternoon around 2:00pm EST. You can see we're expecting that front to move into the area bringing a few quick scattered showers along with it. The good news with this quick system is again I'm not looking for much in the way of rainfall accumulation. Currently looking for rainfall between .10" and .20" inches. And I don't look for an all day rain event! Partly cloudy / mostly cloudy skies with that 30% chance of showers in the afternoon as seen above. Then becoming mostly to partly cloudy that evening. Expect a high near 70* degrees right around 68* degrees. A low that night around 50* degrees.

Now how about that Mothers Day outlook!
Yes, I'm looking for partly cloudy skies at this time with a nice mild high around 72* degrees! Even a mild low that night around 52* degrees. Our average high for this time of year is around 70* degrees and our average low this time of year is right around 48* degrees. So temperature - wise we're looking pretty good! It's should be a nice Mothers Day weather - wise and otherwise. We may start out the day with a few clouds however things should be rather nice once the day really starts to kick off!

So enjoy the day and show you mothers what their worth!! ;)

God Bless!
