A Starting Point For This Developing Storm... More Updates To Come! (Stay Tuned)

Well, we are ready to start tracking yet another winter storm! This is another storm where the precipitation is coming up from our south west which could mean another 2" to 4" inches of snow! Here in Indiana that's a LOT lol :P

But it's not only going to get snowy but also COLD! Yes, we will be looking at highs only in the low to middle 20s through out the rest of this week. You can see the front in this chart I put together below.
This satellite radar image was taken at 10:46am EST. This whole area is what we will be watching over the next 24 to 36 hours. Now some are going ahead and saying we can expect snow showers by noon time however here's why I don't see this happening. Take a look below.
In this map above you can see the moisture. This is currently set up just to our south. However this is moving our way. We are currently setting with Dew points at 18.1 degrees. Just two hours ago we was looking at dew points around 9 degrees. So things are starting to look better snow - wise! :) But just how much snow are we talking about? Well, lets take a look.
You can see I'm currently going with between 2" and 4" inches however I also believe we could pick up another inch on top of this amount by Tuesday night into Wednesday. And not to forget about the windy weather to go along with it! This will make for some deep snow drifts around the area. We will start out with light winds between 10 and 15 mph however by Tuesday evening we will start to see things pick up to around 30 mph in no time. This is going to whip the snow around like crazy as I look for the snow this time around to be a light fluffy snow. Also we will watch wind chills. This will make our low temperatures feel between 8 and 1 degree. Keep the heavy winter coats out! And add another blanket! Brrrrrrrrrrr Is the word of the day.

We also have a winter storm watch into effect for the WLFI viewing area from late tonight through late Tuesday night. This winter storm watch is for all of the WLFI viewing area (BUT) Benton, Newton, and Jasper, counties.

Benton, and Newton, counties you are under a winter weather advisory from 10:pm EST tonight to 11:am EST Wednesday.

Jasper, county is under a winter storm warning from 7:pm EST this evening to 1:pm EST Wednesday.

Now because there is so much going on with this system I will be back again this evening to tweak this forecast one final time before it totally moves in. For now like I said in our last storm this is a good starting point.

So please (Stay Tuned)

At this point and time I could see going to 3" to 5" with that extra inch come Wednesday. But I'll check back later on thie evening with more snowy details! I can tell you now that things will change! The wind will be a BIG threat!
