A nice start to the weekend. But a wet start to the work week!

Quick Cast.............................................

Today. Highs will be warmer in the low 40s! With Partly cloudy skies as a high pressure will move into our area! Winds will be breezy between 20 and 25mph gusts to 30mph are possible.

Tonight. Cool with lows in the mid 20s and Mostly clear to Partly cloudy skies.Breezy Winds between 20 and 28 mph.

Sunday. Highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Few rain showers off and on through out the day. The good thing is it should not be an all day rain. Windy..... Winds between 25 and 30 mph with possible wind gusts near 40 mph at times.

Extended Outlook. Monday we have another rain to snow system in out forecast however I'M not looking for much sticking snow this time around looking like Less then an inch possible. We will start to fall in temperatures from a highs in the 40s to highs in the 20s on Tuesday! With another chance of a few flurries on Wednesday! So a wild start to the work week but not before you can enjoy a nice looking weekend!

Hey there. We have a wild ride ahead of us for the start of the work week! But first we have a nice start to the weekend!!
We will have a small warm front that will rise our temperatures today along with our good friend Mr High pressure!! It should be a SUNNY SATURDAY! You should get out and enjoy it while you can if you like mild temperatures. We will be near 50 on Sunday! With a few off and on rain showers possible! The good thing is it is not looking like an all day rain and not looking for any big rainfall.

Now we do have another system to watch for late late Sunday into Mostly Monday! This is where we could see rain to maybe a little bit of freezing rain! Then over to snow! Now I have checked this out and If we do see any freezing drizzle it is not looking like much at all! I mean I don't see it causing any damage this time around. Which is a very good sign. Also snowfall totals are low as well. Less then one inch of snow is expected.

Now what we need to watch closely with these rain snow systems is freezing rain! This has to do with our jet stream. Here is a map so you can see just what I'M talking about!
This is the jet stream for Sunday. You see we will be in that warm pocket of air then later that night our temperatures will start to fall as we work our way to the cooler side!! Now why do we need to watch this for freezing rain? Well the jet stream looks to be staying in this pattern! And by that I mean moving up and down. As it moves up and down putting us on the cooler side as these rain then to snow systems move in the precipitation can fall as freezing rain! Though I don't see much in the way of freezing rain this Monday! We will have to watch this later on in the week!
This also puts us on a roller coaster ride of temperatures! We had a high temperature yesterday of 25* Degrees and today we will be around 41* degrees only to be near 50 on Sunday. Then we will start to fall again to the 30s and 20s by Tuesday and Wednesday! We will just have to stick with it till we can start to calm down! :)

Now how about Christmas?????
That's right I'M currently watching two systems between the 21st and the 24th. Now nothing is set in stone at this time but I will keep a close watch on our Christmas outlook and I will keep you posted! As of right now we do have more then a 50 50 % chance of a white Christmas! So get out the Christmas music which I have already done! :) and Let it Snow Let it Snow Let it Snow!!!!! I will keep you posted on Monday and I will see you soon! Have a GREAT Weekend!!!!!

Thank you For Reading!!!!! Here is your snowy picture.

People in Baton Rouge LA, got an early Christmas gift right outside there door. While we get ready to go or a wild Temperature ride!!

Quick Cast.......................................

Today. Highs will be in the mid 20s with Partly cloudy skies! A cold front will be Making it's way across our area bringing Falling temperatures through out the day and tonight!

Tonight. Lows it the low 20s with clearing skies as our good friend Mr, High pressure pays us a visit!

Saturday. Temperatures will start to climb again up to the low 40s with mostly Clear skies. A good start to the weekend!

Extended Outlook. Mild temperatures will not last long as we await our next system on Monday into Tuesday. This system looks to be bringing rain mix and snow! Possible sticking snow is more like it! It will be a wild start to the working week! I will keep you posted on this and just how much snow may be expected!

That's right Baton Rouge, LA, Seen a BIG snow!!!!! The First in a long time! You can see in the Picture above sent in By my friend Joy! The snow has covered up the Catie! That is not something we see every day! Now this is such a big deal because Baton Rouge LA, Does not see snow's like this very often! Really on average for the whole month of December they only see a Trace of snow!! Well as we see above they have seen around four Inches of snow in one day!! Also on average for the whole year they are only expected to see .2" as a yearly total! They are way over the yearly total as well! This is why it is a BIG deal! Now I really don't think my friend Joy is having any problem with this much snow! :-) Every little bit is very much loved and enjoyed!!

I know this from not only talking with her on the phone but I think her E-mail said a lot!
I got snow!! can you believe it!! we really got snow! about 4" I think beautiful! Oh my goodness!! I cried so much!!
joy

You see what I mean! :-) That is ONE HAPPY PERSON!! :-) Here is a few more pictures Joy Sent in!! ((Thank you Joy!))
Now I asked Her if she built this great looking snowman and she did not but we will still give her the credit for taking the picture! LOL. you see the neighbor kids got to go out and have a little fun as well. It really was a winter wonderland!
Now we see the snowy roads! This is what I was talking about when I say snow can be beautiful as long as you take your time and drive slow and safely! Be smart and careful! With there temperatures being above freezing I don't think they will have to worry to much about icy roads! But as we see yesterday slick roads may have been a problem at one time! Again Joy thank you for all the GREAT Pictures!!!!! You will have to send in pictures more often! Be sure to keep in touch! :-) Maybe some LA, Sunsets???

Now we will go back to weather here at home! We have a wild few days ahead of us! Wild temperatures I mean! Take a look at the temperature map I have made below!
It's UP and right back Down and back UP again! You get the point! We can thank another Cold front for this up and down temperature ride! temperatures is not the only thing this week. We do have clearing skies in the forecast for Saturday! It should be a good start to the weekend! Sunday however we do have a little off and on rain only to start a WET few days! I'M watching our next system in the forecast for Later Monday into Tuesday!! Where we could see rain mix and over to snow! Possible sticking snow!! Now it is still a little to early to start posting any snowfall totals so I will keep a close watch on this and keep you posted! Till then it is getting closer to the BIGGEST day of the YEAR!! That's right Christmas!! I need to start working on your Christmas forecast so we all can be ready! So while I start working on that you have a great day not only here at home but you to Joy! :-)
I'll see you all real soon! LET IT SNOW!!!!!!!!! Here is a beautiful picture of last nights sunset!! from right here at home! Have a great day everybody! And THANK YOU FOR READING!!!!!

A nice day for us!! But a wild Icy day for others!!

Hey there it is great to check in with you again! We have a up and down temperature ride ahead of us! This week is going to be a wild ride. Nature does not seem to want to make up her mind! We will go from temperature Highs today of around the low 40s to temperatures highs tomorrow of the low 30s! You see the Drop!!!!! This is because we have another cold front that will push its way through our area by later tonight into Tomorrow! We will feel it!!!!! I do Like to find any little bit of snow I can and I have been looking at the maps and models all day and have found a slight Chance of some possible light snow flurries for Friday morning!! I will try to spot some!! Also Looking at some of the long range maps I have found our next system to watch! That's right another system! This one is looking like a rain over to a mix to snow showers! Starting Monday into Tuesday!! Now it is still to early to post any possible sticking snow amounts so for now we will just have to Wait and see how things pan out! Then we can get into snowfall totals or rainfall totals! Which I would like the snowfall totals a lot better!! :-)

Speaking of snow! The system that brought us our rain. And Brought Heavy snowfall to the northern states. Which has been named Storm Wolfe, Is now making a mess in other areas like New York!!!!! I think you will be happy that we did not get some of what they are getting! They are seeing Freezing rain in places like Hunter NY, with some Big amounts of Ice! Here is a statement from the NWS I have posted below! This is for sure something they need to be careful with!!!!!

SIGNIFICANT ICE ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST CATSKILLS...THE MID HUDSON VALLEY...CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN TACONICS...BERKSHIRE COUNTY AND LITCHFIELD COUNTY...WITH GENERALLY ONE HALF TO ONE INCH OF ICING. SOME AREAS MAY RECEIVE ONE AND A QUARTER INCH OF ICE ACCUMULATION. THIS AMOUNT OF ICE WOULD RESULT IN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ROAD CONDITIONS...AS WELL AS WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES.

You see how just an inch of ice which does not sound like much but IS can do a LOT of damage!!!!! I really do hope all the people in that area take there time and drive safely!!!!! If any of you have family in that area do remind them to take it slow!!!!! Ice is very dangerous!!!!!

Believe it or not! We had a little bit of ice out there here at home yesterday as well!! I was told that my Mom slipped on a patch of Black Ice!! But not to worry she is OK and nothing is wrong!! I just want to take this time to let you all know to always keep a watch for Black Ice this time of year!!!!!

Now with 14 Days and counting Till Christmas here is another Winter Picture! Have a great day bloggers and I will check back soon!!!!!

Humorous Pictures
That's gotta Hurt!!!!! Have a great day!!!!! :-)

A dry slot slowed down the rain. And we hit above Avg highs yesterday!!

Quick Cast..................................................

Today. Forecast Focus. Highs will be in the low 30s as a cold front pushes through our area. What ever precipitation is left over from yesterday will most likely fall as a wintry mix! not looking for anything that would cause any big problems as any freezing rain or drizzle is only a real slight chance! Still we will keep a close watch on things and keep you posted!

Tonight. Lows will be in the low 20s with cloudy to Partly cloudy skies. Winds will be light between 5 and 10 mph.

Thursday. Looking cool and Mostly Sunny! Highs in the low 30s and lows in the mid 20s.

Extended outlook. There is a real slight chance of some possible light snow flurries on Friday with cooler temperatures only to start a warmer pattern. Saturday highs in the low to mid 40s and on Sunday we are talking highs in the 50s!! This is December and temperatures in the 50s?? Lets not worry yet we will be above avg highs for a few days then we will start to get back where we should be!

Here is the final rainfall totals from yesterday posted below! You can see Cass county came in with the highest! And Tippecanoe with the next! Lowest was Down in Fountain County with only .27"Inch.

Now we did have a little not forecasted break in the rain yesterday and that was all because of a Dry slot! You can really pick it out on Doppler radar! Here is a Doppler radar image I have posted below.

You can really see it above. We was in that dry slot for much of the day till the rain picked back up again after 4:pm! We went to bed with snow still left over on the ground only to have the BIG MELT DOWN by morning! Not to forget we had warmer temperatures today then we was use to! We have been having temperatures in the 20s as highs and yesterday we had a high that was eight degrees above average!! That's right here is a map I drew up below.

We where warm but did not hit that record high set back in 1987 of 56* degrees for December 9th! And we will go from eight degrees above average to highs in the low 30s today! As a cold front will push through our area! Cooling us off a bit! We do have around a week of above average temperatures :-( till we start to get back down to normal for what we want to be a cold and snowy December!! :-) because we are on the topic of temperature records for Indiana there was a record low set on this very day back in 1977 of only -9* degrees. Now I don't see us getting that low tonight but it is still fun to see or read about some of the records set a long time ago!! Still we keep our finger crossed for a white Christmas which I'M not ruling out just yet! I will keep looking watching and hoping for a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!! ALWAYS!! :-) Now with all this talk of a warmer week starting after Saturday! I want to make all the snow lovers feel a little better as well!! Now it is not much but there is a slight chance of a few light snow flurries for Friday!! This is not anything big at all this time around but if we see any it will help us remember it is still December and NOT spring!!!!! :-) I'M a BIG snow lover so you know I will be looking for any sign of even the smallest snow flake!!!!! :-)

But even if we don't have snow right now we can still sit inside and enjoy the Beautiful Christmas lights tree and wonderful Christmas movies shows and all that Merry Warm time!!:-) This has got to be my favorite time of the year!!!!!And now here is your Wintry picture of the day!! Have a great day and I will check back real soon! THANK YOU FOR READING!!!!!

breed
And the ground is what we are seeing for all the snow has melted :-( But it shall return!!!!! :-) Have a great day!!!!!

A dry slot is over our area stopping the rain for now!

Currently we are in a dry slot so the rain has died off for now! However it will pick back up again! Later on this evening into tonight! Currently I have a total rainfall amount of .48" Of rain! I still think that Inch is possible so we will keep it at that for now! I will keep a watch on this and Post some weather maps and we will talk more about this tonight! Have a great day and keep dry!!

Quick Cast.........................................

Tonight. Forecast Focus. Rainy Lows in the low 30s there is a real slight chance that some of the rain late tonight could turn into snow however looking at the latest models runs it is not looking to likely! It would be more of a few light snow flurries to really a sleet if anything! This is looking like a mostly rain event.

Wednesday. Highs in the mid 30s looking Cloudy turning over to Partly cloudy later on in the day. Lows in the mid 20s with winds between 10 and 15 mph.

Thursday. Highs will be in the upper 30s to low 40s with Partly cloudy skies. Lows in the mid to upper 20s.

Extended Outlook. Looking like a milder week ahead of us as 40s will be back in the forecast by Saturday. I'M also still watching our Christmas outlook and really watching for any signs of snow! I want snow for Christmas that is all I want!!!!! So we just have to all hope and pray!! :-) I'M dreaming of a WHITE CHRISTMAS!! I will keep you posted on all this and updated!!

Well we had a little melt down yesterday but not before I got out and made a little snowman!!!!! With rain coming today I wanted to get out and make me a snowman before it is all gone! I love snow and I always miss it when its melted away! :-( Here is the little guy below!

I put him is a lawn chair so you could see just how small he really is! Small but COOL!! :-) Get it ((COOL)) OK OK I guess that was a little lame! lol. Now back to weather!!!!!

We have another Wild Indiana weather system today! Now I think we should be tracking snow this time of year! Don't you?? Well not today we have rain to deal with! Looking for rainfall totals around that inch mark! It will be a wet muddy mess!! Yuck!! I hope you got your Christmas shopping done while you could! So you don't have to go out in this yucky mess! I know Rain can be nice but we already have melting snow on the ground! And if we add another Inch of rain on top of that we may need to watch some low land flooding!!!!!!!!! The ground can only soak up so much! You see what I mean! This rain is expected to start sometime after 6:00am and go through out much of the day. We will have to put the snow boots up only for now!! and get out the rain boots! Now I can't help but to tell you how much this rain would be if it was snow! ((One Inch of rain would be ten Inches of snow!!)) It is times ten. So a tenth of an inch of rain would be one inch of snow! A half inch of rain would be five inches of snow! So you get the point!! If only if only!! So we do have a slight warm up this week but cold weather lovers don't get bummed just yet! I think we should start to get back down in temperatures later on Late Next week! We will keep a close watch on your Christmas forecast as well and keep HOPING FOR A WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Now It is only sixteen days till Christmas so Starting today I will try and post a Funny snow or Holiday picture on the blog! Have a great day bloggers make it a great one and I will check in today as needed! :-)

This is a great picture to help show our melt down as the rain is on the way!!

Have a great DAY!!!!!
