Dandelion's.....Weed Plant Or Friend???

Well, we do have some WET weather ahead of us that is for sure! So what do we have in store for today?? Well, as I always say "Keep reading" lol :)

First off above is an image for the two fronts we will be tracking over today and Friday. You can see we will see the first front push through our area today bringing along some rain / Scattered thunderstorms with it. Now today I don't see much severe weather but more of (scattered thunderstorms possible) and WINDY at times. Right now it is looking like our main threats will be Heavy rain off and on, And Wind. Right now I think we see rainfall between a half inch and three quarters of an inch possible. and winds are looking between 20 and 25 mph with gusts possible to 30 maybe 35 mph at times. I think we will hold off the better chance for severe weather until (Late tonight into Friday).. So for now it is looking like Scattered thunderstorms with isolated severe of Friday. And I will keep you posted.....

Now I was out today doing some yard work for neighbors and I seen a LOT of the one plant most of us don't like very well.....Do you know what one I'M talking about?? You guessed it! The Dandelion's LOL :) Now just looking at them in this picture they look kinda nice! Don't you think? But when in our nice green yard they look (Yuck!) But really there not all bad! First off here are a few tips I found out about Dandelion's and this is a good question. Weed Plant Or Friend??? :\ Hmmmmmmm.....

Weed Plant Or Friend?Dandelion is a good example of a Weed Plant that you can go after in the fall. It is much easier to attack the deep-rooted weed in a lawn made wet by the rain and overnight dew. If you wait until spring, it becomes much trickier to get to the weed without hurting your lawn, too.

Dandelions are especially infuriating to lawn care experts because the plant is usually the first to season in the Spring. Dandelions then quickly horde water and nutrients, while absorbing spring sunshine with broad, porous leaves. These may make nice lettuce like vegetables for some, but they steal nutrients from your lawn.

Dandelions Means Lawn Needs Attention As with all weeds, a surfeit of dandelions simply means that the lawn itself needs attention. The big rooted plant makes its home on your lawn when grass roots are most likely skimpy and weak. The solution is to not only attend to your grass, but to also focus on the soil. For healthy soil, spread an inch of mature compost evenly over the lawn and let the autumn rains wash it down to the roots over the winter. This is best achieved by dumping the compost out from a wheelbarrow into several piles and then raking it around evenly on the lawn.
-------------------------------------------------

Now after looking at that above I came across this recipe for Dandelion Salad. Now I have NEVER tried this and I'M not sure I would?!?! I'M not saying it is bad because I'M sure its not but I would feel a little odd eating a plant that has always been a weed plant to me all my life! Here is the recipe I have posted below if any of you would like to try it?!?! And if any of you already have please feel free to post all about it in the comments at the bottom of this post! I would love to know what you Bloggers think!!!!! ;)

Dandelion Salad
INGREDIENTS
1/2 pound torn dandelion greens
1/2 red onion, chopped
2 tomatoes, chopped
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS
In a medium bowl, toss together dandelion greens, red onion, and tomatoes. Season with basil, salt, and pepper.

Have a good one Bloggers! I will check back in soon.....

Quick Update For Thursday!

Hey Bloggers.

I'M getting to you all a little late as it is around 1:30am. I got slowed down for a while as my Internet was doing some updates and such so I'M now a little behind! So I'M just going to give you all the quick update on what we are currently looking for Today and Thursday! So let's get to it!! :)

Today we are looking mostly cloudy however I will not rule out the chance just yet for a few peaks of sun this afternoon. Now some of the weather models are showing the slight chance for a little drizzle today which would be less then a Tenth inch more like a Trace If That. However as you all know in Indiana anything is possible!

Here is a map I have put together for Thursday's Weather Outlook below.....
You can see rain is back in our forecast along with some thunderstorms! Yes, we will be watching for some rain / thunderstorms that afternoon. I have gone through the latest weather models tonight and they are showing the chance for some of these thunderstorms to be severe. Now remember that these weather models change all the time and they have (Much) time to change when it is this far out. So I will keep doing updates on this and I WILL kep you posted. Also the SPC does have our area in the slight risk so we will be watching this very closely as this would be our first real severe weather this season. I'M baby sitting the weather models that is for sure! This will be Thursday afternoon into Friday... And one of the main threats is looking like the Wind! Yes, the wind once again! Winds are currently looking between 20 and 25 mph with gusts to 35 - 45 mph at times. Yes, we have seen these winds oh so many times this year and more are on the way! And currently rainfall is looking between a half inch to three quarters of an inch possible.

I will have more on this later on tonight when I'M not so far behind lol :) So be sure to check back soon. ;)

Now I have been looking through all the newest weather models and they are now showing the slight chance for the Thursday into Friday rain and thunderstorms to be severe. It is still two days away so I will be sure to keep watching things and you know I will keep you posted! Right now it is looking like rain will be through out much of Thursday then the best chance for thunderstorms would be that afternoon and then into Friday..

The Severe Weather Stayed To Our West. High Winds And Heavy Rains Moved Through Our Area!!

You are looking at the expected final rainfall after all is said and done later on this afternoon.. You can see most of us staying around the inch to an inch and a half mark. Now these are just estimates and not current totals. I will post final rainfall totals on here later on tonight so be sure to check back to see who seen the most after this front pushes off to our east! ;) speaking of this front!!! Let's take a look at our Weather Outlook map for today!
This map above I put together to show you all what we are looking for this afternoon. Yes, you can see we will start out the day with some left over rain showers that will start to push off to our east later on this afternoon. This is when I think we may see the sun try to peak out a bit before the day is over.. Also we will feel slightly cooler today then we are use to! You can see after this front moves through we see our highs in the 60s! Which is nothing we can't handle! ;) Really this is right around where we should be for this time of year! So we really could not ask for much more..

I do know something we all are a little tired of! Yes, you know what I'M talking about! "THE WINDS" Yes, we have been seeing these High Gusty winds the past three or four days! And we seen them again gusting rather high yesterday! Take a look at a few reported wind gusts I have posted below.....
We see Indianapolis coming in with the highest wind gust around 46 mph and then Danville IL, with 43 mph. Lafayette not far behind with a big 39 mph gust and then Remington coming in with a high gust of 38 mph. It is no wonder that flag was standing out nice and stright! LOL. So do we have more of this WINDY mess to get through??? And where was all the severe weather yesterday?? Well, read on to find out! :)
Take a look at all these WILD weather reports seen well to our west yesterday! Yes, also a few tornadoes had been reported some around the WI, and IA, Here are a few of those tornado reports..

IA, BRIEF TOUCHDOWN. WAS ON GROUND FOR ABOUT A MINUTE. TORNADO KNOCKED DOWN SOME POWER LINES.

IA, RYAN FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORTING TORNADO ON THE GROUND EAST OF COGGON.

WI, SPOTTER WITNESSED BRIEF TOUCH DOWN.

------------------------------------------------------

Also a few tornadoes in the KS, and OK, areas. More reports posted below..

------------------------------------------------------

KS, OBSERVER BELIEVES THE STORM IS 300 FEET WIDE

KS, KWCH CHASER REPORTS HOME DAMAGE DUE TO TORNADO.

KS, KAKE VIEWER REPORTS BRIEF TORNADO TOUCHDOWN NORTHEAST OF BURNS AROUND 4PM.

------------------------------------------------------

This just goes to show that things could have been much worse and we are thankful we just seen rain showers and the wind! This time our fair weather friend Mr, High pressure did his part to help out and keep the severe weather away! So now what's in store for the rest of this week? Well, I have put together a Quick Cast Blog Cast for you all below! Take a look...

Today we will see a few morning and early afternoon left over rain showers. Then as we head into this afternoon to this evening we will start to see the clouds break and maybe try to squeeze out a few peaks of sun before the day is over! Highs will be around 66* degrees with winds between 15 and 20 mph with a few gusts to 25 mph possible. Lows will be in the low 50s.

Wednesday is looking like a rather nice day with some Partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 70s. Winds will again be light between 10 and 15 mph which is just what we need. :) Lows will be in the low 50s.

Thursday we will once again see the rain / thundershowers move back into our forecast. Currently nothing is looking severe but we will see rain through out much of the day with the chance for some scattered thundershowers possible that afternoon and evening. Highs in the low 70s and lows in the low to middle 50s.

Extended Outlook. Friday we will see a few more rain showers through out much of the day with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the low to middle 50s. And then the weekend Saturday is looking rather dry with more Partly cloudy skies and highs in the middle 60s..

Have a great day fellow Bloggers! I will check back soon with all those final rainfall totals! Be sure to post yours! And also you can send in your weather pictures if you have any! ;) Have a good one! I will see you soon.....

The Rain Is Near!

Here is a quick look at the radar image at 3:50pm this afternoon. You can see the rain is making it's way into Fountin, Waren, Benton, Newton, And Jasper, counties. This is not a heavy rain just a light rian. We will see the heavier rains move into our area later on this evening to tonight. Still not looking at severe weather just some scattered thunderstorms through out the WLFI viewing area.

Brow has already reported some quick showers earlier this afternoon up in the monticello, area. Otherwise most of us have just been cloudy! I will pop in if anything is to change but for now we look pretty good. Be sure to check back later on tonight for the latest on what this week will bring and how high those winds hit today around the area.. This and more Coming up!

Yes, we are in this Wind advisory! I'M looking at winds gusting to 45 mph today which will be one of our main threats today! Now I have just went through the latest weather models this morning and I still think we will miss out on the severe weather today. Our Lifted Index is around -3 and CAPE values are low at this time along with our EHI. Still I look for the rain to start after 2:pm this afternoon. Rainfall I'M keeping between an inch to an inch and a half possible. Now the SPC does have some of us it that slight risk area however I'M not looking at severe weather today. More like Scattered thunderstorms is what we are looking for. Still we will keep a close watch on things and if anything changes I will have another update to let you all know!! Also we will still have some left over rain / Scattered thunderstorms tomorrow morning into that early afternoon then we should start to clear out a bit with a few peaks of sun possible by that evening! That is just what we will need after a day of rain! :)

Keep a SMILE on your face! I will check back soon.....

Morning Update! WINDY AND RAINY Is The Forecast Today!

Hey Their.....
Just popping in real quick so you all have the latest on what is coming today! Above is what we have to look forward to this afternoon and tonight! Now here is the break down.....

Today we will see the rain start in just after 1:pm closer to 2:pm this afternoon. Now currently I'M not looking for severe weather as our Lifted Index is at -3.41 still with a front like this one we will have to watch things very CLOSELY just to be safe. Now the SPC does not currently have us in a slight risk for severe weather however it is right on the line of Indiana around Danville IL. Right now I'M thinking our main threats are going to be Gusty winds and Heavy rainfall..... Yes, we have been seeing these high gusty winds the past three days and MANNY people are done with it! But I have models showing winds today between 20 and 25 mph with some gusts between 35 and maybe even 45 mph possible at times. And also models showing rainfall between an inch to an inch and a half possible. Now some good news is the models are showing this system weakening a bit as it heads into our area. We will see rain through out the day today along with some scattered to moderate thunderstorms. Also we will still have some left over thunderstorms / Rain showers tomorrow until later on that evening then we will start to see the clouds start to break with maybe a peak of sun!

I will have another update as this front starts to push through our area later on today. Until then I have to get a few things done then it is right back here to start tracking the BEST weather in the world!!!! Indiana Weather! ;) Have a good one Bloggers!

Robin Eggs, Warm Sunset's, And Mild Temperatures, Oh My! :o)

Hello It is good to be HOME! And what a welcome nature has given us! I'M sooooo Tired and pooped lol. You see above as I was out at my Aunts we came across a robins nest full of little robin eggs. This is not the first time we have found a nest in this same spot but it is one of the first times I have found eggs in it! Yes, all five of them!! I could not pass up this picture. And this really says Spring to me as we start to see the robins at the end of winter!! After finding this nest I thought I would find out a little more about our new friend the Robin, and thought you all would like to know as well so here you go.

The quintessential early bird, American Robins are common sights on lawns across North America, where you often see them tugging earthworms out of the ground. Robins are popular birds for their warm orange breast, cheery song, and early appearance at the end of winter. Though they’re familiar town and city birds, American Robins are at home in wilder areas, too, including mountain forests and Alaskan wilderness.
You can see all the high gusty wind reports above with not one of them lower then 30 mph!! And we still have more windy weather to get through! Yes I think we could still see winds today between 25 and 30 mph with a few gusting around 35 - 40 mph once again at times. The good thing that kinda made up for all these gusty winds was the nice warm temperatures! Yes, people all over was talking about how nice it was and yesterday was the first day for many to get out there shorts! Me being one of them lol. And it sure is funny how 82* degrees feels HOT when it is the first 80s of the year! Now if this was July we would be ASKING for the 80s for that would feel cool ;) Take a look at all these MILD temperatures recorded below.84* degrees in Terre Haute, and Indianapolis, And 82* degrees here in Lafayette, and the Remington, area.. Also we seen the beautiful sunsets around the area as Teri, shows us the nice warm Indiana skies above! We really could not have asked for much more. Thanks Teri for this beautiful picture. Keep them coming..... ;)

Yes, the first 80s this year and more are coming! We will look for temperatures today in the low 80s and lows in the upper 50s to low 60s! How does that sound?? Spring is here and taking charge!!! Another thing I have seen for the first time this year are the Bee's! Yes, it is that time of year again ;)

Today we are looking for Off and On sun or Partly cloudy skies. We will like I said have the winds again so hang on to your hats as you go out. And you will again love the temperatures which will be in the low 80s!!!!! And Sunday we look rather nice as well with temperatures again in the upper 70s to low 80s. And Partly cloudy skies / Off and On sun. Winds will be between 20 and 25 mph with a few gusts to 30 mph possible. Rain is not looking to return until closer to late night Monday into Tuesday! This is when we will see that line of rain move through our area with rainfall currently looking between Three quarters of an inch to an Inch and a quarter possible. Now I will keep a close watch on this and I will keep you posted!

For now it is looking like a pretty nice weekend that is for sure so you all will be able to get out and enjoy! Then be back here by the start of the work week to start tracking that rain again! ;) lol....Have a good one and I will see you all again real soon!

ENJOY THE WEEKEND! AND REMEMBER YOUR SUN SCREEN!!!!! :)

Beautiful Flowers Beautiful Weather And Even Better Temperatures!!!

Hey Bloggers just a quick update as I'M coming to you all from out in Monroe, Yes, I'M out at my aunts house and been doing some yard work and I have more to do today! The weather has been wonderful that is for sure however we did get a little windy yesterday! Lafayette seen a peak gust at 36mph!!! And I see more WINDY weather in our forecast! But first lets take a quick look at some BEAUTIFUL pictures Teri, sent in!

You can see one of her pictures above of all the spring time flowers really popping up around the area. Yes these look like the same ones as my aunt has! I think they both really have a green thumb! ;) And here is another picture below. You can see the fire red colors.....Could this mean something temperature wise???? Well, we could say that the fire red color on the flowers are trying to tell us that WARMER weather is on the way!!! ;) Yes I see 80s right around the corner!!!!! Thank you Teri for sending in these GREAT pictures! Keep them coming, We all love them! You really have an eye for taking pictures and this is a great way of showing nature after a wonderful Earth Day! Taking care of the Earth is what it is all about! And we really need to do it year around. The pictures above and below show how beautiful nature really is! Let's just take a minute to enjoy!...................
.................
....................
..............
....................
..........
..................OK!! :)

Today we have a great day with highs reaching the low 70s with 80s moving into our area by Tomorrow / Friday! Yes, with all this high pressure we have moving into our area hitting the low 80s should not be a problem... Now I want to talk a little about those winds we have coming for Friday! Now yesterday we did see winds gusting to 36 mph but Friday I have a few weather models showing me wind gusting between 35 and 40mph. Some could reach 45 mph at times!! This is something we will watch closely here over the next day and I will try my best to have another update coming your way here again real soon. So far the winds look to be the only thing to worry about this week as I think we will hold off any more rain until the start of the work week on Monday! And this is looking like later on Monday afternoon to that evening. But this is still a good four to five days away so I will keep you posted. As of now I'M not looking for any severe weather as the latest weather models are showing this front weakening as it moves into our area! This is good news as I know a lot of you really don't like severe weather! But who does??

Thank you for reading.....And now it is time for me to do some more yard work! I will again try to pop in with more Weather Blog updates!

I will see you soon.....Go make it a GREAT day and enjoy these nice warm temperatures! :)

It Is Earth Day And Nature Is Giving Us Some Beautiful Weather!!

Oh how this picture says it all lol :) My aunt sent me this picture of her dog Archie, And by the look on his face you can tell he is just tired of all this rainy weather we have been seeing these past few days! And not to forget the hail as well. Which we again seen more of yesterday! It was being reported all over the WLFI viewing area. However no bigger then Pea size once again. So when will all this rainy weather push off for a bit of sun??? Well I think as soon as today! Yes, maybe a few light rain showers in the early morning then we will start to look much better with Partly cloudy skies... I think Archie, and all the local dogs will really enjoy this and will love the forecast I have for you all even more! Is spring really here to stay?? Well, we do have 80s in our forecast!!!! Take a look below at this temperature outlook map I have put together for you all below.Yes, today we got 60s but 80s will be here by Friday! This is a really nice forecast we have in store for us that is for sure! We will see this rainy mess start to push off to our east and the high pressure will move in. And with all these clear skies we should not have any problem hitting those 80s!! Warmer is the key word..... ;)

So Today still a few early morning light showers are possible then we will become partly cloudy for the rest of the day.. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the middle to upper 30s. Winds will be between 15 and 20 mph with a few gusts to 25 mph possible.
We will really start to feel this warm up by Thursday! That is when we will be in the 70s and on our way to those 80s! We will again have Partly cloudy skies to mostly sunny skies.

And last but not least the 80s will move in by FRIDAY! Yes, more SUNNY SKIES and just a beautiful SPRING day!! Now I will be heading out to my aunt's house today to get some things done and also help out with some needed yard work! I will be out their from today until maybe Friday.. I will however try my best to pop in with some Blog updates for you all so stay tuned! ;)

And now we cannot forget what today is?!?! It is a great day for our planet!!! That's right it is EARTH DAY!

HAPPY EARTH DAY!!! Remember Your Three R's!! Reduce Reuse Recycle..... This picture of the Earth and Moon in a single frame was taken by the Galileo spacecraft from about 3.9 million miles away.

Earth Day, celebrated April 22, is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in in 1970 and is celebrated in many countries every year. This date is Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.
The
United Nations celebrates an Earth Day each year on the March equinox, which is often March 20, a tradition which was founded by peace activist John McConnell in 1969.

Here are Ten things we all can do this earth day to help make the planet earth a much better place to live! Remember this is our only home so lets do our part to keep earth healthy!!!!!

-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------
1. Plant a tree in your yard or start a garden. Plants and trees help clean the air, are visual expressions of nature's beauty, and uplift us. Even something as simple as growing herbs in a garden can provide nourishment and delicious meals for the family.

2. Simply stop using pesticides on your lawn. Pesticides contribute to the pollution of the Earth and poison our water supply, endanger human health, and sicken wildlife. There are many effective, natural alternatives available, or even simpler, allow nature to take over the growing of your lawn, creating food for bees, birds and animals.

3. Support a local, organic farmer or CSA. Some farmers require your active participation, some deliver to urban areas. The food is nutritious and delicious, and uses less of our non-renewable resources.

4. Buy organic. Look for – and ask for - organic produce wherever you buy your groceries, or even better, shop at your local health food store which carries only organic produce. Buying organic reduces pesticide exposure to the land, farmers, harvesters, and your family.

5. Spend time in nature. Taking a walk, having a picnic, or simply sitting outdoors and watching the sky, deepens our connection to the natural world , thereby motivating us to be better stewards of the Earth.

6. Buy energy-saving, compact-fluorescent light bulbs and other energy efficient products. When your next bulb goes out, replace it with a compact fluorescent light bulb. They last 10 times as long, and over their lifetime, use 1/4 the energy of an incandescent bulb, saving you $30-$40 on your electric bill. When replacing major appliances purchase energy efficient ones - look for the government's Energy Star label.

7. Recycle. The old adage “reduce, reuse, recycle” still works very well today. Many large waste disposal companies have an at-your-curb recycling program. Check your own local disposal company.

8. Shop Green. Be a consumer that uses your dollars to support companies and products that are better for the Earth. By simply clicking to EcoMall.com (http://www.ecomall.com) you will find a directory that features hundreds of companies that offer everything from organic and hemp clothing to non-toxic cleaners and solar energy products.

9. Join or make a donation to any organization that supports the environment. There are numerous worthy organizations that work hard for the Earth and are in need of our support. If the aforementioned tasks seem to require too much effort or time, simply write a check to those who have integrity regarding the Earth and make a meaningful contribution to the Earth’s health.

10. Create good thoughts. As Franklin Delano Roosevelt said, “All we have to fear is fear itself.” By creating the awareness that we can heal the Earth - that it is not too late, we combat the paralysis that fear often produces. So if all you can do on this Earth Day is think one good thought about the Earth, you will have contributed to a changing of the fear-based mentality.

Have a great day Fellow Bloggers!! I will check back soon.......... :)

It's raining peas!?!?! Well, Pea size hail that is! ;)

Well, we seen rain showers along with a few reports of some thunder in areas up around Remington, We also see lots of high gusty winds all around the WLFI viewing area and even some hail! Now all this sounds like we had severe weather but that was not the case this time around! Yes, we did see all these things but severe weather was not around! Now how big was the hail? And how high did the winds really gust to?? Well, read on! :)

You can see the hail pictures above and tell that it was nothing big thank goodness..... We did not want any hail that would cause damage to cars and such like we once talked about here on the Indiana Weather Blog. We just seen nothing more then some little pea size hail. It was kinda cool to watch and also you can see it started to cover the ground a bit.. I seen it started hailing and I ran out to snap pictures! LOL When it comes to things like this I cannot pass them up. ;)

Also we seen the gusty winds yesterday that just started up that afternoon. So how high did they gust to?? Well Danville IL, seen a peak gust to 43 MPH..... Up around Remington areas they seen winds gusting to around 23 MPH... But down around Indianapolis there was gusts to 38 MPH... And last but not least Lafayette which seen a peak gust to around 38 MPH as well. WINDY all around that is for sure!!

And now we are in for a nice week it is looking like. Yes, we do have a little more rain to get through today but then we will be calling for some nice partly cloudy skies to mostly sunny skies.. With the best part being that highs will start to climb once again to the upper 70s to low 80s!!!!!!!!!! YES 80s! Now today we will see some off and on rain showers through out the day With rainfall being around .15" inches.. Winds will be much more calm between 15 and 20 mph. Now take a look at this Quick Cast Blog Cast I have put together for you below! This really says it all.....

Wednesday we will see some Partly cloudy skies or off and on sun. Highs will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. This will be the start of our nicer week and will give us some time to dry off a bit. Winds will be between 15 and 25 mph with a few possible gusts to 30 mph at times cannot be ruled out.

Thursday is looking like a really nice day with Partly cloudy skies to Mostly Sunny skies and highs getting into the upper 60s to low 70s. ANOTHER NICE DAY!

Friday we will be in the low 80s! Along with the sunny skies and lots of spring flowers popping up! Lows will still be in the upper 50s! It just don't get much better then that.

Extended Outlook. I think we will stay dry on Saturday with more Partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 70s and lows in the middle to low 50s. However Sunday we will see some more rain try to move into our area along with a thunderstorm possible. We will watch Sunday closely just to be safe as currently this system has the chance to become severe.. Now please remember it is still almost a week away so I will BE SURE to keep you all posted as it gets closer and as we all already know "As it changes" That's just Indiana weather for ya! ;)

Now go out and enjoy this week.....Well, after all he rain stops lol. Remember you can send in your weather pictures to me at storm18mini@aol.com and I will post! It is always helpful to see how the weather is in other areas.....

It really felt like spring I think for the first time this year that is for sure! Here is another picture below...

Now here is your quick weekend forecast!
I think for today we will stay dry with some partly cloudy skies in the morning and early afternoon. Then we will see some more clouds start to move through the area by later on that evening. Also we hit a high here in Lafayette yesterday of 73* degrees!!! Well, I think we will be right around that temperature mark again today! I'M looking for a high of around 72* degrees!! So what am I saying??? (Get out and ENJOY) :D

Tomorrow or Sunday if you like we will see some more scattered showers try to move through the area.. I look for a high around 61* degrees and calm winds between 5 and 10 mph... Sunny 70s Before The Scattered Rain!

WOW I cannot believe how things have been!! This has been a wild (BUSY) week! I'M sorry for not updating as much as I usually do.. I'M doing the best I can and I think you for sticking with me.. I have even more work to get done with this nice weather we have today!! But first I wanted to try to pop in and give a quick update! So let's get to it..........

First off take a look at the picture above! Do you know what this means????? That's right "Get the lawn mowers ready" (Get Ready) (Get Set) (GO!!) LOL. Yes, our back yard is getting long and it is just about time to start mowing. I have been hearing people all over mowing there lawn's this past week and this is just what I have to do today! Only not my little yard. I'M heading out to my aunts today to mow the BIG yard. It is some were around a Half acre or so. Well, at least I can have some fun on the ride mower YA lol :p I wonder how fast I can get it to go?!?! :D Ha Ha.....I did however find a little time to play some ball with my boy Dobby. He has been a real sport!!You can see he is ready to go! LOL.. I will take him out to my aunts big yard with me today so he can run around and get nice and pooped by the time he comes back home! ;) That sounds good..........Now how about the weather?

You are going to love this forecast.. Well, at least the first few days that is!

I'M calling for a high today around 72* degrees!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it? 72*? It's true! And to make it even better we will see Sunny Sunny Sunny skies all day long... We could not ask for a better looking forecast that is for sure! And we will see another rather nice day tomorrow.. I think we could hit around 72* once again only this time we will start out with some partly cloudy skies and then slowly see the clouds move in later on in the day.

I do see rain back in our forecast as much as I hate to say it with all this nice weather getting us all pumped up!! Our next chance for rain is on Sunday. We will see some off and on rain showers however we will keep storms out for now! I know you all always like to hear this. :) We will be seeing off and on rain or scattered showers from Sunday through Tuesday so I would get out and really ENJOY this nice weather today and tomorrow while you can. I will be out doing a lot of Yard work that is today along with the rest of the family. We will keep it fun and then come home and just relax!!! That is something I could really use right now lol. I like to say "Work Before Play" Or in this case "Work Before Relaxing"

Have a great day Fellow Bloggers. Thanks again for everything and making this a fun Blog to have! I will see you soon. Now Work Calls! ;)

A Beautiful Weather Outlook Is Heading Our Way!!

This is what we have to look forward to this Friday!!!!! I know there are a lot of you out their that are going CRAZY for some nice mild weather. I won't say HOT weather because then we will be wanting the cold again lol. That's just how it works here in Indiana! :) Currently it is looking like we will be pushing the low 70s as we head into Friday. But first we have today and Thursday to get through and I think you will like the looks of this forecast..... Today we are calling for some mostly cloudy skies however I still think we could pull out a few little peaks of sun as the day goes! So we won't rule that out just yet... Now we will still feel cool today with highs in the low to middle 50s but Tomorrow is another story!!

Yes, not only will our temperatures go up but also the skies will clear out..... I'M looking for some Partly cloudy skies through out the day along with calm winds between 15 and 20 mph and highs that look to be in the low 60s!!!! Yes, spring is here and we will all have time to get out and enjoy.. I for one know my diggie Dobby, is going nuts to get out and play BALL! :) I will have to get him out their..But Friday is looking like by far the best day this week. We will keep all rain away until later Saturday night into Sunday. We will talk more about that here real soon.

I just cannot believe how crazy this week has been with so much stuff going on right now that I have to get done. I'M doing my best to keep you all posted on the weather blog while working on my other things going on.. It sure has been a job but I;M keeping it fun as well which I think we all should try to do.. Keeping things fun is the (Key)

Now I did find a few weather sayings I thought you all would like! Here is a few I have posted below.. Look for these next time and find out if they really work.. This should be fun..........

OLD WEATHER SAYINGS!
“When the dew is on the grass, Rain will never come to pass. When grass is dry at morning light, Look for rain before the night.”

“If a cat washes her face o’er her ear,‘tis a sign the weather will be fine and clear.”

“Rainbow in the morning, Shepherds take warning. Rainbow at night, Shepherd’s delight.”

“When clouds look like black smoke,A wise man will put on his cloak.”

“Evening red and morning gray Helps the traveler on his way. Evening gray and morning red Brings down rain upon his head.”

“The higher the clouds, the finer the weather.”

“When clouds appear like rocks and towers,The earth will be washed by frequent showers.

This one is really cool..........“When chairs squeak It’s about rain they speak.”Wooden chairs will absorb moisture from the air when the humidity rises. This causes them to squeak

“Cold is the night When the stars shine bright."

The Dogs Want To Play Is Mild Weather On The Way??

Yes, today we will see the rest of this light morning rain move out. However this time we are not looking for partly cloudy skies but more of mostly cloudy! I do see sun back but not until closer to tomorrow night into Thursday.. Again we will be slightly cool with temperatures around 52* degrees today with a (Warm up) on the way!!! This is going to be good news for I know of a few doggie friends of mine that would love to get out without being chilly! ;) Below is a picture of one of my little buddies..
Boy he is CUTE! LOL this is my aunts doggie Archie, He is a BIG lover of playing outside. Only problem is it has been rather wet and muddy these past few days. Well, when will we see this so called nicer weather and or warm up??? I will tell you! ;)

I'M looking for one more day of Mostly cloudy and maybe a few quick peaks of sun on Wednesday. Then as we head into Thursday we will start to look MUCH better with highs around 63* degrees and (Partly Cloudy Skies) back in the forecast!!! And if you think that's good just wait it keeps getting better... We will see back to back nice days with Friday being another good looking day with more Partly cloudy skies and an even warmer high getting closer to that 70* degree mark with a current expected high of around 68* degrees!!! I know I know this sounds to good to be true after this up and down ride we have seen lol. Well, what do you expect when it is spring in Indiana? :) We will see a bit of everything as you already know! As of now I don't think we will see rain back in our forecast until closer to Saturday evening to that night possible. And that is currently not looking like storms but more of just a rainy mess once again.. However as we have seen in my past post this rain is helping the flowers to pop up. I guess that is a big A+++ I will check back with more here real soon. It has been a real busy week for me but I'M doing my best to keep everything updated!! Just stick with me lol.. :D For now I have put together your Quick Cast Blog Cast Below...

BLOGGER QUICK CAST BLOG CAST....................

A Happy Easter It Was!!

Yes, it was a VERY NICE Easter!!!!! We had a GREAT dinner and even better family! I made the family a pan of home made Brownies topped off with easter eggs.. lol it was great! I hope all you had a nice easter as well!! ;)

Now you can see that picture above of spring flowers really starting to pop up! This picture was sent in to me by my Aunt Bomber! She is a real flower lover that is for sure... Now we will be talking about some spring showers today! We did hit a nice high yesterday of 60* degrees here in Lafayette and now the rain is back... We will see the rain start in early this morning and go through out much of the day! Right now we could see a little thunder possible but nothing severe just some spring rain and a rumble is possible. Right now I think we could see rainfall between a quarter and a half inch with some possible locally higher amounts to maybe three quarters of an inch. Right now the best chance for thunder would be in the afternoon. Again nothing severe is currently expected...

I will pop in if needed but for now I'M going to grab some rest... Have another great day!!! I will see you soon. And I hope you had a great Easter!!

We Look At Some Strong Severe Storms That Smashed The South!

Hey there! What a day we had yesterday all over the country! With rainy wet weather here at home. And you go just to the south of Indiana in KY, and TN, areas they where seeing lots of rain and storms. I will talk more about there storms here in just a minute. First we should talk about whats in store for us today and Easter Sunday!!

Today I'M calling for much better weather I know all you are happy about! I seen you all commented about not having nice weather for the weekend in a while! Well, that is true lol. However nature has a nice gift for us this weekend. We will see lots of Sunny skies and nice mild temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. Winds won't be that bad as I look for them to be between 15 and 20 mph. Now we do have that freeze watch in effect like you see in the map above. We will see nice clear skies tonight which will allow the temperatures to fall into the lower 30s. This is mainly for farmers and for peoples gardens. Now I think most will be ok with your flowers and such as I don't look for us to stay below freezing for long! Hitting freezing is only a possibility Still if you feel safer you can bring in the plants or at least cover them. But as for now I think we should be ok. Here is a word from the NWS below.

It is starting to really look like spring out their. I was out looking around the yard yesterday and I found lots of our flowers starting to really pop up! Now I'M not really into flowers other then watering them and that kind of stuff but as for the names of them I have NO IDEA lol. But here are a few pictures I took and you can see what I'M talking about by really coming up...
I think these are called "Live Forevers" at least that is what we have always called them. They are coming up fast in the back yard and really look nice. With them being this big now I wonder what they will look like as we head into this summer?!?! ;)
Here we have our tiny little "Rose bush" that is just starting to come out to enjoy this nice weather we have coming! And below is a plant I have no idea what it is called... See if any of you know and if so feel free to post the name in the comments!! THANKS!
Ok and last but not least how will we look for Easter? Well, I think the kiddies will be able to get out and search for the Easter Eggs without the rain coats or winter coats!! I'M looking at lots of sunny skies once again and MILD TEMPERATURES in the upper 50s to low 60s!!!!! This is looking like a GREAT weekend and an even better Easter Sunday! HAPPY EASTER BLOGGERS!!!!!

Good news is we should not see any big thunderstorms however a slight rumble is possible. Now rainfall is something we will have a lot of! We will see rainfall when all is said and done between a Half inch to an inch possible. Also another thing we will watch today along with our heavy rainfall is going to be some Gusty winds. We will look for winds between 20 and 25 mph with a few gusts to 30 maybe even 35 mph at times. Yes, I'M telling you all to really hold on to your hats and umbrellas as you head out today. :) I do have some news that will help to brighten up your wet day! And the good news is.

The System Is Moving This Way But Not Before We See A Wonderful Day!

OK I got some sleep last night and now I have been working on the latest weather models. Right now we can look for a NICE day today with Partly cloudy to Mostly sunny skies. Yes, this is how we will start out only to end the day later on tonight with some rain showers. But not before we hit a high of near 60* degrees!!!!! Yes, this is going to be one of the best days this week that is for sure... Now for now I think we will see the rain showers start to move in sometime around 10:pm tonight. Now I would not rule out any thunder just yet but as for real thunderstorms and or severe weather I think we will miss out on them this time... Take a look at the system we will be tracking later on tonight below. You can see it is starting to move this way..

This is the image we are looking at this morning. We will again see this later on tonight and as of now I think rainfall could be between a half inch to one inch when all is said and done. Today we will see winds between 5 and 10 mph and we will see them start to pick up sometime after 10:pm tonight to 25 mph. As we head into Friday we will still be seeing this rain with some more gusty winds between 20 and 25 mph with a few gusts possible to 30 - 35 mph at times. But the good news is we should not see anything severe today as it is looking like a mostly rain event!! I will pop in if needed. For now there is just to much beautiful weather out their to just let go by so GET OUT AND ENJOY!!!!! Have a good one.....

Cleaning Painting And Now I'M Pooped! LOL :)

...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EDT WEDNESDAY...
--------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------
Yes, you can see we still have that freeze warning in effect until 10:00am EDT This morning / Wednesday. Now we have been seeing these lows in the 20s as last nights low was only 32* degrees right at freezing. Well, we will start out today right with Partly cloudy or more like off and on sun. Also I know a lot of you are going to like this!!!!! Low winds! YES!!!!! We will see winds between 10 and 15 mph with maybe a few gusts to 20 mph. This is much lower as we was seeing winds gusting to 35 mph yesterday and it was not making to many people happy I'll tell you that! It was a good thing I did not have much to do outside but every time I opened the back door to let the doggies do there thing a whole lot - o leaves came right on in! Good news and bottom line is we should feel a lot better today. Look for highs in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Now the next chance for rain will be here late Thursday into Friday. Now I do think we will stay mostly dry through out most of the day Thursday however after 8:pm we will start to see some rain showers move in. Now I don't see any severe weather but maybe a little rumble or two at times. As of now this is looking like a mostly rain event. Now Friday is again the main rainy day. And we could very well see more high rainfall amounts back in the area. As of now I'M looking at models showing possible rainfall between a half inch to one inch.
For now everybody has been watching the rivers closely! This is why. Take a look at where the Wabash River currently stands. You can see we are currently at 18.51ft which is still a good seven and a half feet over flood stage. Good news is we are expected to start slowly falling as we go through this week. You see by Thursday around 2:am we should be around 17.3ft. This is good news as we get ready to track more wild rain by late Thursday into Friday. One more thing is we will start out our weekend in a great way! Currently I'M calling for a lot of Mostly Sunny skies on Saturday with mild temperatures in the Upper 50s!!!!! And I also think we can see a rather nice Sunday. Yes, I think we will see Partly cloudy to Mostly sunny skies and again highs in the upper 50s. Maybe more rain to track on Monday but over all I think we are doing pretty good for the rest of this week!

I will check back soon now go have another Beautiful day!!!!!

We are starting to see the winds calm just a little bit. With the latest wind gust reports at 31 mph. Still look for some gusty winds through out much of the day until closer to this evening.
